The EMI Group Archive Trust

We are home to one of the world's largest and most diverse music archives. Our collections cover many aspects of the music industry, from its tin-foil origins in 1877 to the digital age of 2006. In addition to material relating to our musical heritage, we also hold documents and artefacts associated with our achievements in television, radar, and medicine.

The EMI Group Archive Trust was established in 1996. The objects of the charity (no. 1056254) are...

"the advancement of education and research and, in particular, to foster and promote the study and appreciation of the art techniques and development of sound recording and the history of the sound recording industry".
