The EMI Group Archive Trust

We are situated within one of the world's largest and most diverse music archives. Our collections cover many aspects of the music industry, dating from its tin-foil origins in 1877 up to 1946. In addition to material relating to our musical heritage, we also preserve artefacts associated with EMI's achievements in television, radar, and medicine.

The EMI Group Archive Trust was established in 1996. The objects of the charity (no. 1056254) are...

"the advancement of education and research and, in particular, to foster and promote the study and appreciation of the art techniques and development of sound recording and the history of the sound recording industry".
